The Human Capital ('HC') team at PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada ('the Firm') provides strategic advice to our business leaders to enable the delivery of our people strategy of being an employer of choice. Our HC professionals help to create a unique people experience for each individual, by driving engagement aligned to our values and key measures of success. Reporting to the Development Leader, the S&L Learning & Development Director is responsible for providing thought leadership, excellence in delivery of strategy, and oversight of the S&L Development team regarding the development and execution of learning strategies and initiatives. In collaboration with the business, BE HC Director, Development Leader and other HC Leaders and Functional groups, as appropriate: (including global counterparts), the S&L L&D Director is responsible for shaping and executing on short and long term learning and development goals, promoting a culture of learning and increased productivity and efficiently managing budgeted resources. The S&L L&D Director will also require an open, inquisitive and innovative mindset as the L&D group undergoes a transformation with its learner journey and the future of L&D at PwC Canada. The Strategy & Leadership L&D Director is part of the National Development Leadership team.

Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a Learning and Development (L&D) Director, you'l l work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high-quality client service, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Participate in the development of the Development Pillar vision and mandate in collaboration with the Development Leader and the Development Leadership Team.

• Lead, motivate, and coach a team of direct reports to work with the business to identify learning and performance improvement needs.

• Develop the S&L Development strategy to achieve business objectives and embed it in appropriate L&D curricula and other learning experiences.

• Promote and encourage a holistic approach to development, including formal learning, coaching, and on-the-job learning.

• Build and sustain relationships to champion the vision and strategy with stakeholders, including the Canadian Leadership Team and Global PwC L&E Networks.

• Promote and encourage cross- LoS development of one-firm learning and performance solutions.

• Serve as a thought leader internally and externally by participating in conferences, writing whitepapers, and engaging in L&D networks.

• Lead direct reports to budget, monitor, and forecast costs for all learning and development activities.

• Establish and monitor measures of success for all aspects of Development.

• Manage and leverage the global network within PwC to share and leverage content globally as appropriate .

Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
• Post-secondary education and ongoing learning efforts that demonstrate a commitment to the HR profession.

• Deep expertise in learning and development, including training needs analysis, performance gaps, adult learning theory, and educational technologies.

• Experience as a strong coach for your team, ensuring commitment and thought leadership in all people activities.

• Ability to translate business requirements and needs into actionable steps.

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

• Strategic thinking skills with strong problem-solving abilities, including understanding the financial impact of recommendations.

• Ability to work and navigate effectively in a matrix organization or partnership structure.

• A strong leadership image with impeccable ethical standards, integrity, and dedication.
