The Independence Office provides critical business support to the firm in a complex and changing regulatory environment. We are looking for a Manager who has a practical and positive approach to problem solving, who is good with details, confident in liaising with individuals at all levels throughout the firm, has a client service mindset and enjoys acquiring new knowledge/technical skills. As a Manager in the Independence Office, you will be part of the Consultations Team and Global Independence Network, involved in the following areas.
Purpose-led work you'll be part of
As an Independence Manager , you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Performing Independence Assessments, arising from client M&A transactions, onboarding of new clients and strategic firm investments
• Supporting client teams by providing guidance and advice on Independence consultation requests
• Providing advice and guidance to Partners and practice staff on complex independence rules
• Oversight of independence team members - onshore and offshore
• Ad-hoc projects determined from time to time, including the provision of general support to other independence activities
• Gaining breadth and insight into the operations and activities of the firm
• Being part of a large cross-functional team, and the opportunity of working with Independence leaders, audit teams and project teams
• Contributing directly to the firm in achieving its performance goals, especially regarding growth, leading firm and quality
• Developing a solid technical base and understanding of the independence rules which underpin everything we do as a Firm
• Engaging in a solutions- focused , cohesive, vibrant team
Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
• Audit experience or experience working in the accounting or regulatory field
• A focus on client service, with an ability to share and collaborate with others
• Good project management skills and strong database and research skills
• Judgment and problem solving skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• A conscientious, ambitious team player, with good self-management skills
• A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard
