A career within the Cloud Engineering Practice will provide you with the opportunity to assist leading organizations develop and implement strategies that transform their technology capabilities and solve their most critical business challenges. Joining this newly formed team will allow you the opportunity to shape, scale and provide leadership to a group of highly skilled cloud architects and engineers. You will be able to combine your consulting, technical and industry expertise to build and deliver emerging cloud solutions.
Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect focused on Microsoft Azure, you'll lead a team of problem solvers, leveraging emerging cloud technology and services to solve complex business challenges from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
• Take an "always learning" and "coaching" approach to your leadership role
• Collaborate with your team members and contribute as a technical team lead while participating in multiple concurrent cloud focused projects
• Collaborate with cross functional team members to develop and propose to potential customers technical cloud-based solutions including SOW's
• Gathering and assessing client requirements, and translating these into solution requirements and design
• Manage and grow a collection of new and existing client relationships
• Develop reference architectures and best practice approaches to optimize clients' cloud adoption, application performance, security, and cost models
• Provide technical and go to market leadership focused on asset driven cloud-based solutions and services, collaborate and lead development focused teams members to bring cloud based solutions to market
• Recruit and develop a highly capable cloud engineering team, provide coaching and foster an environment where technical professionals can develop their skills and grow their careers; taking on increased responsibility and adding value to the organization
• Lead initiatives identified to shape the foundation for the cloud engineering practice, refine resource requirements, project workflow, operating budget requirements
• Develop new and existing internal and external client relationships leveraging innovative methodologies, practices, tools and assets to address key market trends and challenges
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define, develop and implement the strategic direction and focus on emerging enterprise cloud services

Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
• Extensive experience working as an architect or related capacity, ideally in finance, retail, telco, government or public sector organizations
• Demonstrated experience in cloud architecture and business applications, project execution, practice management and an understanding of software development
• Extensive experience in development and execution of cloud-based programs working across functional teams including Enterprise Architecture, Data Technology, Business / Corporate application owners and stewards, Governance and Management CoEs
• Experience in a technical leadership capacity to implement and scale cloud-based projects with a specific focus on the following:
• Cloud architecture leading practices and options, the development of cloud foundational architectures in achieving strategic objectives of clients linked to digital transformation initiatives. Strategies include: Application Migration, Microservices, Build and Release Management, DevOps tools and strategies, integrated security, data and identity management
• Cloud technology architectures and solution options aligned to technology strategy and cloud infrastructure use cases, including hybrid cloud and deployment options (PaaS, IaaS, etc)
• Change management practices including organizational models, roles / responsibilities and technology tooling and automation
• Application modernization strategies and tooling
• Understanding of solution architecture, API lifecycle, technical documentation, including logical and physical architecture, and systems design artifacts
• Working knowledge of supporting the removal of technical debt and legacy applications
• Experience delivering in waterfall, scrum, agile, and other methodologies
• Solid oral and written communication skills, with prior experience in Consulting, including developing business presentations, technical writing and facilitating data driven options analysis, senior level stakeholder discussions with an ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to the business

• Kubernetes (specifically AKS)
• Container Registry
• Azure DevOps
• Azure Pipelines
• Azure SQL Database
• Azure Table Storage
• Azure Functions
• Azure Cosmos DB
• Azure Storage (Blob, File, Disk)
• Azure Networking (Virtual Networks, Subnets, etc)
• Infrastructure as code - Terraform, Ansible, ARM templates, etc
• Configuration management - Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Saltstack, etc
• CI/CD - Jenkins, Tekton, ArgoCD, Flux
• Linux / Unix shell
• Git and various git platforms (GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, etc)
• Development experience (Go, Python, NPM)
• Agile software development and release cycle management
• Software testing and test suites
• Application monitoring and alerting
• Application migration and modernization (microservices etc)
• Container development and management (Containerd, Docker, Kubernetes, etc)
• Technical presentations and public speaking engagements
