The Opportunity:

WSP is growing and has an opportunity for a dedicated Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Program Lead to join us in our Ontario and Atlantic, Earth & Environment Business.

Using your strong understanding of the engineering and environmental sciences coupled with the Canadian Scientific Research and Experimental Development Tax Incentive Program, you will help the Ontario and Atlantic Earth & Environment businesses effectively apply the framework to opportunities and current projects for success.

What you can expect to do here:
  • Foster innovation by encouraging imagination and creativity by supporting and promoting all ideas within the SR&ED framework;
  • Bring your understanding of SR&ED and apply key concepts and how they apply to our earth and environment business;
  • Establish and maintain a network of contacts to assist in the SR&ED process with your service line while acting as the main point of contact between WSP and their SR&ED consultants;
  • Create and lead a committee of business-identified SR&ED champions from each business unit (Environmental Management, Environmental Planning, Geotechnical and Water, and Construction Materials);
  • Regularly report to management on the progress of the S&ED claim and ensure effective communication with senior leadership;
  • Identify priority innovation themes, help train consultants on SR&ED, help project mangers through the documentation process required with a SR&ED claim;
  • Encourage collaborations with academic institutions;
  • Collaborate with the Ontario and Atlantic Earth and Environment Business Innovation lead, as well as other regional SR&ED Champions across Canada.

What you'll bring to WSP:
  • University or equivalent education or experience in Engineering, Environmental Sciences or similar;
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian Scientific Research and Experimental Development Tax Incentive Program;
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering and environmental consulting business, with proven results through SR&ED assessments;
  • An inquisitive mindset that enables you to identify themes and connections, and bring a fresh perspective;
  • Access to a vehicle, a clean Driver's Abstract, and you know your way around the MS Office suite products;
  • Interest in working for the leading environmental consulting firm globally and being part of a growing and thriving team!
