A career in our Property Valuation Practice, within Deals Valuation, will provide you with the opportunity to leverage specialist expertise in the real estate market. Qualification in surveyors, property valuers of internationally recognized professional bodies such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, or local professional institutes such as the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AACI) designation is required. As part of our team, you will be involved in real estate matters where we offer various kinds of services including valuations for different purposes including taxation, mergers and acquisitions and other advisory services as well as being part of the integrated deals team in offering real estate related advice to clients from an overall deals' perspective. PwC is fortunate to review and work on some of the largest and highest quality real estate across Canada spanning core and alternative asset classes. The catalyzers for our real estate valuation services are dynamic and include assisting with transaction pricing, facilitating real estate organizations' strategic decision-making, regulatory and financial reporting, and income tax and estate planning. Our key valuation services include real estate assurance support, business valuations with significant real estate components, purchase price allocations, financial modeling, and real estate appraisals. Our clients trust us to help them understand the value of their real estate.

Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a Real Estate Valuation Director, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Contribute to the growth of a scaling real estate valuations practice through leveraging the firm's network in addition to your own sphere of influence
• Deliver in-depth understanding of the value of each property, real estate portfolio, or real estate lease along with relevant technical and industry knowledge
• Lead our real estate assurance support function including the review of valuation methodologies and assumptions to support financial statements associated with our real estate clients (including pension funds, REITs, real estate private equity, developers, etc.)
• Grow relationships with existing clients by demonstrating subject matter expertise and knowledge
• Provide independent, expert valuation reports for a variety of purposes including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), financial reporting, disputes involving real estate (including being a subject matter expert), taxation, corporate planning and corporate governance
• Participate in our deals ecosystem by supporting our real assets , restructuring, and value creation practices which often have projects with real estate scope
• Contribute to thought leadership, pitches, proposal development and other business development
• Lead real estate valuation project teams, and contribute to team development through coaching and sharing technical knowledge across the national and global PwC network

Experiences and skills you'll use to solve:
• An AACI designation is required
• Strong technical skill with Argus Enterprise and /or Microsoft Excel
• Strong commitment to identifying and addressing client needs and building, maintaining , and utilizing client networks and community involvement
• Dynamic, entrepreneurial style to identify and execute on new market opportunities
• Proven ability to manage multiple project workflows and deliver on time
• Proactive, takes ownership of tasks and assignments, accepts responsibility for outcomes
• Experienced at preparing and/or coordinating complex written and verbal materials
• Considerable experience as a team leader: supervising diverse teams to create an atmosphere of trust, seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation and coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback
• Some knowledge in one or more of the following would be favourable : highest & best use analysis, leasing strategy, facility management, corporate real estate
• A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard
