Reporting to the VP Media Finance, the Director Finance Media will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, month-end processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This operational leadership role will focus on financial reporting, budget management, and forecasting for the Radio and Television operations within Rogers Sports & Media. The role requires a strong financial background with operational expertise to drive financial performance.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in financial planning and analysis at a senior level in complex environments. Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills are needed. Leadership and coaching of a team of Finance professionals including the development of key talent and succession planning. In addition, a proven track record of delivering results through solid business partnerships is a must. The incumbent will be expected to play a pivotal role in providing value added decision support and strategic thought leadership to all stakeholders.
What you'll be doing:
• Lead the financial operations for the Radio and Television operations, including budgeting, planning, forecasting and reporting.
• Provide leadership on strategic short-term and long-term planning, financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Provide financial analysis for strategic and day-to-day decision making. Support key business decisions based on detailed business case evaluation and influence towards the best solution.
• Manage the preparation and tracking of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory financial reporting requirements for the Radio and Television operations.
• Maintain strong internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with business goals and regulatory framework.
• Proactively Identify opportunities for cost optimization and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure financial processes and operations are aligned with business and regulatory goals.
• Provide financial leadership to senior management on operational and financial matters related to Radio and Television.
• Influence decision-making through financial insights, focusing on operational performance and financial efficiency.
• Lead a team of finance professionals, ensuring development, succession planning, and effective financial operations.
• Foster a collaborative environment that promotes continuous learning and improvement in financial reporting and operational performance.
What you have:
• CPA or equivalent accounting or financial designation
• Strong operational leadership skills with a focus on financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to provide operational and financial direction
• 10+ years of senior-level experience in financial management, specifically focusing on regulatory compliance, operational finance, and reporting.
• Experience in media financial operations would be an asset.
• Proven leadership experience, including managing finance teams and providing strategic financial direction.
• Experience with regulatory financial reporting and compliance, preferably in media or related industries.
