A career in our Platform and Integration Architecture practice will provide you with the opportunity to bring our clients a competitive advantage through delivering architecture solutions, governance and alignment during the delivery process, and ensure alignment to the overall project objectives and technology strategy. As part of our Solution Architecture team, you will focus on planning, high-level design and reusability of solutions - in contrast to engineers, who carry out the vision and build the product. Architects develop specifications, models, standards and guidelines to coherently and consistently deliver technology.

Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a D ata Solutions Architect, Azure, Director , you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Director to join our fast-growing dynamic Microsoft Alliance Data team. In this role, you will lead the charge in designing, implementing, and deploying scalable data platforms across public and private clouds. Your role will be pivotal in guiding our clients through their data journey, serving as a trusted technical advisor and helping them establish a robust data practice at an enterprise level. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Data Platform Design and Deployment: Architect data platforms that are scalable and deployable across various cloud environments, ensuring they meet the needs of our clients.

• Technical Advisory: Act as a trusted technical advisor, supporting clients in their decision-making processes and guiding them in establishing their data practice.

• Data Strategy Analysis: Analyze clients' data strategies, governance, architecture, master data management, and data quality management to guide them at an enterprise level.

• Technical Execution: Drive and execute technical streams within data strategy engagements, ensuring successful delivery.

• Client Education: Educate clients on modern data & analytics technologies, architectures, and approaches, highlighting their business value.

• Solution Presentation: Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and present proposed solutions to clients, tailoring communication to various stakeholder levels.

• Problem-Solving: Understand and address client business problems with technical solutions.

• Process and Tool Standardization: Define common business and development processes, platform usage, and tools for data acquisition, storage, transformation, and analysis.

• Solution Communication: Communicate different technology solutions, articulating the short and long-term consequences for the client's business.

• Roadmap Development: Develop roadmaps and implementation strategies for data & analytics initiatives.

• Solution Review: Review and audit existing solutions, designs, and system architecture.

• Proposal Creation: Create proposals for the implementation and design of scalable data platform architectures.

• Architecture Documentation: Perform maturity assessments of clients' data capabilities and create architecture documentation.

Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
• Extensive experience as a Solution Architect with a strong background in data & analytics.

• Proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-scale data platforms.

• Expert with big data technologies and frameworks such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, Kafka, MS Fabric

• Experience with Big Data solutions in large cloud computing infrastructures, particularly Azure.

• Practical expertise in performance tuning and optimization, bottleneck problems analysis and troubleshooting

• Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex solutions to a diverse audience.

• Strategic thinking with a focus on delivering client-centric solutions.

• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

• Independent work ethic, coupled with strong team collaboration skills.

• The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada
