As a Capital Markets Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Understand the client's business and technology strategy and operations through research, interviews, formulating and testing hypotheses
• Conducting and managing market research and quantitative and qualitative analyses, including the synthesis of complex data into meaningful insights
• Deliver client projects on time and within budget exceeding client expectations through outstanding team performance and stakeholder management
• Work directly with clients to integrate People, Process and Technology (Data) components into meaningful, value added solutions
• Build and maintain effective, trusting and collaborative client relationships at multiple levels
• Collaborate with team members at various levels to lead and develop compelling client proposals, white paper, thought leadership and point of view, describing the business challenge and proposed business and technology solutions, scope, risks and dependencies
• Contribute to building a strong and sustainable PwC culture through effective employee engagement, mentoring and coaching team members through timely , meaningful verbal and written feedback
• Believing in the value created by diverse teams and can adapt to a variety of working styles
Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
• Working experience within Capital Markets or an internal consulting group
• Understanding of capital markets industry, global trading and capital markets products and trade lifecycles (bonds, equities, derivatives, etc )
• Hands on exposure to capital markets functions including sales and trading, risk management (credit, market, and operational), compliance, funding and trading operations, including confirmation, settlement, regulatory reporting, reconciliation, and exception processing
• Well versed in Capital Market regulations (conduct, trading, clearing, margin, KYC, privacy, trade and transaction reporting), regulators (OSFI, IIROC, CFTC, SEC, FCA, etc.), as well as, upcoming changes as part of the Financial Stability Board (FSB) work program and broader portfolio of work (ESG, rate reform, crypto currencies, culture)
• Working knowledge of common capital markets reference data types (entity, counterparty, product, trade, settlement, etc.) and systems interactions including IT tools and technology
• Solid experience within Technology and Data strategy and transformation including familiarity with global trading and market infrastructures (execution venues, clearing houses, central settlement systems, etc )
• Familiarity with technology domains including and not limited to Technology Architecture, Automation, Data strategy, etc including functional knowledge of trading infrastructure and trading flows
• Familiarity with technology concepts including architecture (e.g. business, technical, logical, data), data strategy, governance and management, systems/applications ( e.g. trade booking, investment book of record, collateral management, risk management)
• Interest in emerging technologies and advanced analytics related to capital markets and asset management
• Self motivated with a passion for client work and team work
• Ability to multitask and manage ambiguity as you navigate change at the client site
• Excellent communication skills
• A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
• Fluent in English and French/Spanish is considered an asset
• An ability to travel to client sites across Canada, as required
• Experience in acquired in the bank ing indu stry (internal consulting) or in consulting services.
