A career within the AWS Cloud and Data Practice, will provide you with the opportunity to assist leading organizations develop and implement strategies that transform their technology capabilities and solve their most critical business challenges. You will be able to combine your consulting, technical and industry expertise to build and deliver emerging cloud solutions. With a focus on AWS Cloud and DevOps you will collaborate with internal teams and customers to implement hybrid cloud architectures, leverage cloud services, ensuring a solid foundation to run, manage and scale their critical business applications.
Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a Sr Amazon AWS Cloud Engineer, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Design, develop, build, and maintain cloud-based applications and services on the AWS platform
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and management of cloud infrastructure and applications
• Stay updated with the latest Amazon services, DevOps tools, and industry best practices
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members
Implementation, Innovation (building), and Learning
• Take an "always learning" approach to your role, continuing to advance your skills, knowledge and network in Cloud and DevOps
• Cloud moves fast and requires a lot of "labbing and learning", be an out of the box thinker; look for opportunities to learn new software and technology
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on AWS offerings, not limited to Migration and Modernization
• Obtain and maintain relevant certifications as needed for the Amazon Cloud Engineering Practice
• Identification and building of reusable and repeatable cloud-based patterns and artifacts that the practice can bring to market.
• Implementation of cloud agnostic use cases leveraging cloud provider and 3rd party tools to deliver business outcomes for customers based on the identified requirements.
Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
• Relevant experience working as AWS Cloud engineer or related capacity.
• Demonstrated experience in cloud technologies, project execution.
• Experience in implementation and scale of cloud-based projects with a specific focus on the following:
• Cloud technology architectures and solution options aligned to technology strategy and cloud infrastructure use cases, including hybrid cloud and deployment options (PaaS, IaaC, SaaS etc.)
• Change management practices including organizational models, roles / responsibilities and technology tooling and automation
• Application modernization strategies and tooling
• Working knowledge of supporting the removal of technical debt and legacy applications
• Solid communications skills with prior working experience in a consulting environment
• Experience working in waterfall, scrum, agile, and other methodologies
• Good oral and written communication skills, including developing business presentations and technical writing with an ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to the business
• When applying to a Quebec based opportunity, fluency in French is required. Outside of Quebec, fluency in French is an asset
Technical experience in many of the following areas:
• Virtual Machines / EC2, VMWare
• Kubernetes (EKS, ECS, Fargate)
• RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, AWS Aurora
• Amazon S3, Glacier
• Migration from on prem to AWS (Assess / Mobilize / Modernization)
• AWS Landing Zone and Cloud Networking (VPC, Subnets, etc.)
• Infrastructure as code - Terraform, Cloud Formation, etc
• CI/CD - Code Build, Code Pipeline, Code Deploy, Jenkins
• Linux / Unix shell
• Git and various git platforms (GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, etc)
• Application migration and modernization (serverless, microservices etc.)
• Technical presentations (POC, PowerPoint) and public speaking engagements
• Knowledge of Cybersecurity fundamentals and security best practices in cloud environments.
• Cloud certification (AWS)
• Development experience (Go, Python, NPM) preferable
• A background in AWS GenAI (Bedrock, Q, Lex) is an asset for this position
