Overview

The Technology Infrastructure and Operations department in Information Technology Services (ITS) manages core IT infrastructure and services at KPMG in Canada. This includes providing level 2/3 support, operating a 24x7 Network Operations Centre (NOC), and managing national Data Centres and Cloud Services. The department also handles Access / Identity Management, Change Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management.

As a member of the IT Senior Leadership Team, this role ensures compliance with network infrastructure services and adherence to standards. Emphasizing automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud integration, the department enhances efficiency and reduces manual intervention by building and managing scalable and reproducible infrastructure environments. This approach allows seamless deployment, management, and scaling of applications, ensuring robust and agile performance. The role involves interactions with Canadian IT leadership, KPMG's global technology teams, local vendors, and service providers.

What you will do
  • Responsible for leading a diverse team encompassing Network Operations, Network Engineering, and Managers to ensure successful project implementation and support.
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance with all network infrastructure services at Co-Lo Data Centres, Cloud Services, and remote sites, with a focus on Cloud networking.
  • Ensuring that all infrastructure configurations adhere to company standards by collaborating with security teams and consistently maintaining compliance.
  • Conducting regular infrastructure compliance audits to identify and rectify inconsistencies in the environment promptly.
  • Ensuring that monitoring and alerting for the environment is exemplary, leveraging technology for proactive maintenance to avoid outages and utilizing predictive analysis to anticipate potential issues.
  • Adhering to Service Management processes, ensuring team compliance and utilizing tools with appropriate reporting to meet KPI requirements.
  • Participating in and contributing to Network and Infrastructure Roadmaps in collaboration with peers and partner teams.
  • Accountable for Network financial planning and management, including planning, budget management, reporting, and delivery within allocated yearly budgets.
  • Emphasizing the integration of advanced cloud technologies and automation to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Leading efforts to adopt emerging cloud solutions, ensuring seamless migration, scalability, and resilience, while managing hybrid environments effectively. Focusing on leveraging cloud-native services to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Driving data-driven decision-making processes, utilizing real-time analytics and insights to proactively address network issues and plan for future capacity needs.
  • Championing a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team, fostering an environment that encourages the exploration of new technologies and methodologies.
  • Providing clear vision and direction, mentoring team members, and promoting collaboration across departments to achieve strategic goals.
What you bring to the role
  • Preferred: University degree in computer science or related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of network concepts, standards, data centers, cloud Service providers , and IaC.
  • Experience with large-scale hardware and software (SaaS) migrations, deployments, and operationalization, including planning and executing migration strategies and ensuring minimal downtime.
  • In-depth understanding of IT security practices, focusing on network security and best practices, and implementing security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing and operating IT services in external or outsourced hosting facilities, overseeing daily operations, and maintaining service quality.
  • At least 10 years of experience implementing technology, change management, or process improvement programs, driving initiatives to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Direct experience with all phases of network implementation and infrastructure (physical, virtual, SaaS, PaaS), emphasizing next-gen technologies, and leading projects from design through deployment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills to manage relationships with internal teams, outsourcing partners, vendors, and service providers, ensuring high-quality deliverables per contractual obligations and service level agreements, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Proficiency in English at a business level is required.
This position requires written and oral fluency in English. The successful candidate may be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking colleagues or stakeholders while at KPMG.

KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $103,000 to $154,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
