We are a dynamic API and Integration team, responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge API and integration solutions across diverse domains, including retail payments, financial crimes, AML integrations, cards, and lending. Leveraging the AWS technology stack, we build scalable and secure APIs to enable seamless integration between applications and drive innovation. We plan, prioritize, and deliver solutions that represent the best value technology spend while observing technology governance within prescribed limits. We manage and maintain the ongoing solutions delivered to the designated business/group, act as platform or application owners, and oversee the end-to-end development process to ensure the right solutions are delivered. We also address any operational concerns once in production, delivering on time, on budget, and adhering to required standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Acts as a thought leader in development, builds deeper relationships with key stakeholders, and demonstrates expert-level skills in coding across multiple languages, LOB's, and/or technology areas.
  • Lead the API and Integration team, successfully handling multiple projects in parallel and ensuring all design and development practices are implemented.
  • Manage and lead a team to deliver desired business results using sound technical architecture and design.
  • Provide strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor, help determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy, and monitor and track performance, addressing any issues.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for planning, delivery, and management of technology solutions, ensuring ongoing viability of technology platform assets.
  • Identify opportunities and provide recommendations and design to senior leaders in response to business/technology/architecture changes, ensuring technology resiliency.
  • Recommend and approve changes to systems, procedures, products, and people to meet plans, achieve goals, and maximize scorecard.
  • Define and document application architecture and other system documentation to ensure adherence to standards and alignment to technical strategies.
  • Participate in the development of business/group strategic plans to enable annual and long-term results.
  • Collaborate to identify high-value technology requirements and solution opportunities.
  • Assess the value of potential work and understand all work included in the annual plan.
  • Prioritize and coordinate development team activities for multiple initiatives of varying complexity to meet client demands while maintaining Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and technical stewardship over platform applications.
  • Ensure optimal decision-making between internal stakeholders, including between the business/group and Technology senior leaders.
  • Evaluate external vendor offerings and select cost-effective service providers.
  • Serve as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders at a group/enterprise-wide level.
  • Lead teams to find solutions to problems using machine learning and/or automation, removing single points of knowledge and moving repeatable tasks to full/partial automation.
Qualifications:

  • BS/BA or MBA/MS in computer science, engineering, information systems, math or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good knowledge of AWS cloud computing platforms from development to deployment.
  • Knowledge of software development practices, concepts, and technology obtained through formal training and/or work experience.
  • Demonstrate understanding of business processes and business requirements as well as the architecture patterns and development best practices.
  • Experience in building and managing highly scalable solutions leveraging Java/Node.js/Go/Python.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud eco-system including but not limited to API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, Step functions, ECS, AI/ML etc.
  • People Management experience of teams (10-20) with combination of full time and contract resources
  • Experience with technology delivery
  • Enthusiastic about learning new technologies and products
Salary :

$92,400.00 - $171,600.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
