The primary role of the Sample Coordinator, Laboratory will be to receive, log and organize laboratory samples. Other laboratory or warehouse tasks will be required when time permits or as required.

What you can expect to do here:

WSP has a new opportunity for a Laboratory Sample Coordinator to join our Laboratory team based in Burlington, Ontario.
  • You will receive, log and organize incoming samples for all groups within the laboratory team
  • Communicate with lab supervisors and team members to arrange pick up and deliveries of supplies and samples.
  • Verify sample information and ensure correct labelling and documentation
  • Ensure proper care, handling, and storage of test samples during delivery and pick-up.
  • Perform preliminary sample preparation as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication. (Speaks clearly and fluently, provides feedback, proactive, closes the loop)
  • Following Health and Safety responsibilities, under all applicable government legislations and WSP policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating a "Safety First" focus and acts as a role model to other staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be comfortable driving trucks and vans
  • Must display good judgement. Has the confidence to ask questions, knows when to and is willing to ask for help.
  • Lifting or moving up to 40 lbs may be required.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Early morning and evening hours required.
