he Opportunity:
WSP is seeking a Quality Coordinator to join our team in Port Hope. This role would give you the opportunity to support the development of Quality Management System processes to ensure compliance industry standards. You will be responsible for project compliance oversight, tracking KPIs, reviewing quality documentation, and playing a lead role in supplier surveillance and field inspections.
This opportunity is to join the WSP team responsible for the execution and construction of the Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI). The PHAI represents the federal government's response to the community-requested solution for the cleanup and local, long-term, safe management of historic low-level radioactive waste in the municipalities of Port Hope and Clarington.
Please note we will consider candidates based in various locations throughout Canada, but this opportunity is based at the project site in Port Hope, Ontario.

What you can expect to do here:
- You will support the Quality Manager/ Lead with the implementation of the quality management system
- You will be responsible for Quality Control (QC) activities related to field, not limited to daily inspections and coordination for testing
- You will serve as the point of contact for quality matters such as quality action log, equipment tracker, and trainings management
- You will provide ongoing oversight for field activities and ensure compliance with documentation and project requirements
- You will be responsible for completing ITPs (inspection and test plans)
- You will support the Quality Manager/ Lead with updates to the quality management system
- You will summarize and analyze field/ documentation findings effectively
- You will ensure compliance with project quality plans and procedures
- You will offer coaching, mentoring, and guidance to staff regarding quality processes (e.g., field inspections process, document management)
- You will support with Document Management procedures implementation and apply those in your day-to-day tasks
- You will support the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS), including charring meetings, taking notes, updating QMS documentation, and communicating updates to personnel.
- You will assist quality management and other disciplines during client oversights
- You will coordinate for onsite testing and oversee technicians for reports and quality of work onsite
- You will conduct material inspections on incoming material
- You will review drawings, specifications, submittals and standards as applicable to execute your work on daily basis
- You will complete on timely manner reports as required by the Inspection and Testing Plan
- You will coordinate with Client for any hold point inspections and any other stakeholders as required
- You will work closely with Operations team on day-to-day tasks
- You will prepare submittals as required for quality department
- You will work closely with Field Engineering for coordination on field matters
What you'll bring to WSP:
- Post secondary education is preferred, with a focus in Construction or Quality Management
- More than 2 year(s) of civil and residential construction experience is mandatory
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry is beneficial
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of quality assurance principles
- ISO 9001 standard application knowledge
