Product Designer - 141907-1

    • Location: Remote (part of Vancouver based team)
    • Hours per week: 40 hours (no OT allocated)
    • Term: Ends June 30/25
    • Chance for Extension (Y/N): Yes.
    • Duration: 2 months + extension
    • Hourly Rate: $62.50/hr INC

    Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm:
    • The job role is to support the consumer advertising team in both strategic and tactical design efforts, such as:
    • Executing on designs that the FTEs create. 1
    • Updating templates and adding new features to the advertising template compositions. 2
    • Working in the monetization space with AI and human centered design principles. 34
    • Delivering high quality visual design products with some level of motion or animation design. 5
    • The priority is visual design, followed by ideation and then motion or animation design.

    Candidate Requirements
    • 5+ years experience.
    • Relevant experience preferred.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • You possess strong visual and motion/animation design skills, applying your talents and understanding of typography, color, texture, composition, iconography and illustration with strong interaction design skills to create effective, inclusive, and accessible experiences.
    • You can ideate/innovate new concepts rapidly, obtain feedback, and move from concept to final designs quickly.
    • You have a large breadth of visual design capabilities - from illustration work to high-aesthetic/photo-realistic design - and can flex styles/tones as needed.
    • You ask questions, find answers, and figure out how to distill a vision or idea into an effective design solution.
    • You are hungry to explore design innovation with AI - both in your processes as a designer, and as integrated elements of product design.
    • You collaborate with diverse teams and enjoy working with others to co-create designs that understand and address both the needs of the business and the needs of the consumer.
    • You have experience using Adobe Creative Suite - priorities here include Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects. You understand how to deliver motion designs in a variety of formats (MP4, GIF, JSON, SVG + SMIL, etc.)
    • You have experience with Figma and prototyping tools to generate your designs and validate those designs with users/customers. Figma will be your primary tool for final design handoff for most design assets.

    Top 3 Hard Skills Required
    1. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects.
    2. Experience with Figma, a collaborative design tool.
    3. Visual design and motion or animation design skills.

    Candidates need to have their own laptop!

    This needs to be a 'work dedicated' laptop - meaning they will do a factory reset before and after the contract, so there is no personal data saved or used on this. They will not be provided one.
    • MacBook Pro or PC equivalent to handle large design files, monitors and peripherals. If using Mac, a Parallels license is required to help the designer understand the Windows ecosystem they are designing for.
    • If using a Mac, a Parallels license will be required.
    • Figma and Adobe Create Cloud licenses moved to a SSO model, where client provides the license
