The Opportunity
WSP is currently seeking a motivated Water Resources Principal Engineer to join our successful Water Resources Team based out of the Toronto Office. As a Principal Water Resources Engineer on the Land Development and Municipal Engineering team at WSP, you will have the chance to lead and innovate in the field of water resources engineering. This senior position offers diverse exposure to projects across Municipal, Land Development, Transportation, and Renewable Energy Markets. You'll be at the forefront of designing and managing systems for stormwater management, wastewater collection, and water distribution for both existing and future communities.

What you can expect to do here:
Lead, mentor, and support a team of water resources specialists with varying levels of experience;
Engage with regional municipal and land development clients to support and develop new opportunities;
Coordinate with other Water Resources Team Leads nationally to pursue opportunities and execute projects;
Prepare and manage the design and delivery of potable water, drainage, hydrotechnical, and stormwater management projects;
Monitor and manage team workload and staffing levels to maintain target utilization;
Undertake and lead tasks such as preparing and reviewing drawings, designs, calculations, technical assessments, hydraulic and hydrologic models, and reports;
Perform minimal field work as required to support project needs;
What you'll bring to WSP...
10+ years of experience in water resources engineering;
Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or related field with a focus on water resources;
An advanced degree in the field of Water Resources Engineering would be a strong asset;
Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario;
Strong project management skills to oversee the design and delivery of complex projects.
Previous experience in the field of municipal engineering, storm water management, water resources planning/engineering;
Strong technical skills in water resources engineering, including design, modeling, and assessment.
A self-motivated individual looking for advancement opportunities.
