We're looking for a Lead Water Resources Engineer to join our Southern Ontario Mine Water Team, located in our Mississauga, ON office. This position requires a candidate who is prepared to take on a leadership role and has demonstrated experience in mine surface water engineering, including hydrologic analysis, flood mitigation, river engineering, dam breach assessments, hydraulic infrastructure analysis and design. You will provide technical solutions and designs, provide senior review, mentor and contribute to knowledge sharing and will contribute to multi-disciplinary projects both locally, regionally and internationally.

What you can expect to do here:
- Developing, managing, and supporting clients
- Collaboration with other senior leaders and mentoring of intermediate and junior colleagues
- Directing projects including technical work delivery, budget, schedule, and communications for both large, and small multi-disciplinary projects
- Developing technical engineered solutions for surface water projects including erosion and scour protection, river engineering, stormwater management, and flood mitigation
- Designing surface water management infrastructure from feasibility level to construction documentation including detailed design, tender documentation, and conducting field reviews
- Reviewing technical reports
- Developing and pursuing opportunities and preparing proposals
- Continuing professional development for maintaining current knowledge of professional standard practice

What you'll bring to WSP:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or similar (preferably a graduate degree related to surface water engineering), with consulting experience in mine water resources engineering, dam breach assessments, design and construction of hydraulic infrastructure, and assessments related to hydrology and flood assessment/mitigation
- Valid professional designation in at least Ontario
- This role requires a candidate with 10 or more years of demonstrated experience in water resources consulting projects and a minimum of 5 years of experience in mine water resources
- Excellent leadership, problem solving, communication, mentoring, and people skills
- High degree of motivation, strategic planning, and ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines and budgets
- Strong client relationships and industry connections
- Committed to technical excellence and ability to write proposals and technical reports
- Fluency in other languages, such as French and Spanish, is an asset.
