Oracle Systems Administration Manager

Job Description

A career in Finance, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help PwC in all aspects of our Finance internal function including financial planning and reporting, data analysis, and assisting leadership with overall strategy. You'll focus on recording and analysing financial transactions, paying and receiving invoices, maintaining financial statement ledger accounts, and preparing analysis and reconciliations of bills to detect fraud.
Meaningful work you'll be part of
As an Oracle Systems Administration Manager , you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution with complex financial data under the guidance of the Assistant Controller. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• System Administration of all core finance systems, ensuring maintenance and system updates are tested and implemented without any loss of data or reporting capabilities
• Being a subject matter expert on all Finance applications, systems and integrations, including, but not limited to, Oracle (AP/GL/SYS ADMIN), Basware, Banking Portals, iPower, Concur Expense, including the software, database and accounting implications
• Act as liaison between vendor, Finance and IT for current releases and all enhancements
• Review proposals for future releases from vendors and assess business impact for Canadian firm
• Work with Finance and the practice to understand how to improve usability of finance systems. - Ensure risk management and internal control issues are mitigated in all systems
• Overseeing business requirements gathering, development, testing and implementation of all future releases
• Supervising a team conducting system monitoring, daily checks, testing and providing end user support
• Creating Custom Reports and data extracts as required by the business ie . SQL Scripts/ FSG's( Financial Statement Generator)
• Installing and maintaining any required Oracle software
• Setting up Oracle user accounts and database connections
• Training users on how to access the information in the database
• Finding and debugging malfunctioning programs affecting the database integrity
• Regularly testing database upgrades and updating security protocols.
• Creation of tables and maintenance of tables in the database
• Work with Finance and the practice to understand how to improve usability and raise enhancement requests to feed this into future vendor or internal deve lopment
• Oversee testing of new releases and updates to existing releases, including designing the test plan, maintaining test scripts and managing the testing process

Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
• E ducation in computer engineering, computer science, or Business Degree with Oracle certification are an asset
• Proven work experience with Oracle Financials (AP/GL/SYS ADMIN.) and related database
• Familiarity with Oracle database design, coding, and documentation
• Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems, and SQL
• Knowledge of programming languages and API
• Proficient in Excel and other Reporting Applications
• Ability to visualize algorithmic structures.
