WSP Canada Inc. is looking for a dynamic and experienced Buildings - Mechanical Manager to join our Buildings M&E - Transportation team at our Thornhill office. In this role, you will be responsible for leading an established and talented Buildings Mechanical engineering group.

What you can expect to do here:
Manage a well stablished mechanical engineering team with technical, financial, resourcing and design quality.
Hands on manager-engineer with deep involvement in project design, and implementation from proposal to construction.
Manage and deliver complex infrastructure design and mechanical solutions to customers.
Deep involvement with proposals and pursuits, technical leadership, financial & technical project management, resourcing, assisting the leadership with business development, and team performance, hiring, client facing, and other given responsibilities.
Lead, and manage multidisciplinary project teams focused on client specific requirements including planning, engineering design, construction, post construction and financial management deliverables.
Lead, develop and empower a diverse group of professionals and technical support staff.
Deep understanding of diversity and inclusion, believing on companies values, culture, and code of ethic.
Cooperate with other discipline managers including structural, mechanical, electrical, lighting, BIM, civil, etc.
What you'll bring to WSP:
Minimum bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, with 12+ years of consulting engineering experience.
Registered Professional Engineer with PEO. Other provinces are plus.
Experience with transportation projects, including involving buses, trains, airports, water ports, marinas, etc.
Ample experience with different type of project delivery methods including but not limited to : Alliance, PDB (Progressive Design & Build), Design Build (Design & Build), DB with variations such as DBF, DBFM, DBFMO, ADM, IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) and conventional DBB (Design Bid Build).
Minimum 5+ years of managing and mentoring technical staff, with very strong technical background.
Deep knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and Air Conditioning), refrigeration, sanitary & storm piping, domestic hot and cold water distribution, natural gas distribution, fire protection, fire sprinkler and suppression systems (FPS & FSS), BAS (Building Automation System) and integration with SCADA, Engineering software, Codes & Standards such as OBC, CSA, ASHRA, NFPA, ASPE, etc.
Fair and unbiased leadership, strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and teamwork skills to deal with internal and external clients, other disciplines and internal lead, senior, intermediate, junior engineers and project managers.
Previous success in client management and proposal/report writing;
Strong knowledge of Transportation clients such as TTC, GO, Metrolinx, VIA, VIVA, CN, CP, MiWAY, Regional Transit Agencies, GTAA, etc.
Complete familiarity with Transportation and DB projects requirement such as DRM, PA, PSOS, OSOR, etc.
Deep knowledge of Project Management, including but not limited to FP&A (financial planning and analysis), budgeting, resourcing, scheduling, and billing.
