The Human Capital (HC) team at PwC Canada includes Human Resources, Learning & Development, and Talent Management professionals. The Learning and Development Manager in the Strategy & Leadership team will support the development pillar's vision of driving value to our people, business, and clients by fostering a culture of continuous learning. Reporting to a Senior Manager of Learning & Development and ultimately to the Leader of Learning & Development, the Manager is responsible for the strategic design, development, and implementation of cross Line of Service learning solutions, from inception through to business impact. This role will work with a high degree of independence, will lead or contribute to various projects/teams, and will have accountability for a variety of programs and L&D projects, including but not limited to Onboarding, Sales & Relationship management, milestone leadership programs, and other C-suite business imperative programs along with other professional development programs.
Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a Learning and Development Manager , within the Strategy & Leadership team, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high-quality client service, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Identify , build, and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including the business, HC, Knowledge Management, Resource Management, and local office learning contacts
• Identify learning needs and develop appropriate learning strategies incorporating education and experiential solutions by consulting with Subject Matter Experts (SME) or outside suppliers if required
• Develop and execute implementation plans, including drafting communications, managing the translation process, liaising with local office contacts, and ongoing project management
• Manage L&D programs and projects, including conferences where applicable
• Work with practice SMEs to develop course content using appropriate instructional design
• Actively identify opportunities and contribute to a "one firm" approach, leading to continuous collaboration amongst the Development pillar and other areas of HC
• Oversee and/or organize/deliver instructor briefings, instructor skills training, and train-the-trainer events
• Ensure that critical success factors and project risks are identified and proactively managed
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the programs and make recommendations for future offerings
• Support compliance activities as required by the business
Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
• Deep knowledge of adult learning theory, learning needs and performance gap analysis, content development routines, instructional design, and assessment/evaluation of learning
• Understanding of the strategy and priorities of the business and how they translate into learning & development priorities
• An open and consultative mindset to look for innovation, change, agile thinking, and adaptability
• Strong consulting skills - specifically, the ability to communicate effectively both orally and written and maintain collaborative relationships with staff at all levels
• Strong project management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work towards tight deadlines
• Supervisory and facilitation skills
• Ability to work with technology and/or learn new software
• Experience coaching, managing, and developing others (e.g., L&D senior associates)
