Position: Security Guard
Site: Elgin County Courthouse
Site Address: 4 Wellington Street, St. Thomas, ON N5R 2P2
Status: Temporary Part Time (March 13 - June 14)
Hours: Friday and Saturday 2300-1100hrs
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement - calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly
Internal Posting Date: February 13, 2025
Internal Closing Date: Februrary 20, 2025
External Closing Date: March 13, 2025

Position Overview:
• Implement security measures to protect property, control access to sites, patrol assigned areas to monitor activities and ensure client rules and regulations are followed
• Ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed and maintain written reports
• Direct visitors to appropriate areas, perform security checks, and liaise with visitors, customers and the public
• Maintaining a positive, productive work environment through collaboration
• Ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed

• Monitor CCTV and Access Control systems
• Foot Patrols

Qualifications:
• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (required)
• Valid St Thomas Police Security Clearance (required - completed internally)
• Valid First Aid & CPR certificate level C
• In this role, it is essential that you maintain integrity, clear written and oral communication skills and maintain a high standard of customer service.

Certification Requirements (Any)

Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
