Status: Temporary Full Time
Hours: 1800-0600hrs - 2 Week Rotating
Week #1 Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday
Week #2 Sunday, Wednesday & Thursday
Pay Rate: $22.00/hr
Posting Date: January 30, 2025
Closing Date: February 6, 2025
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement - calculation after 88 hours bi-weekly

GKN Metals security guards will work indoors and outdoors to provide a deterrent to theft of building materials.

This position will be responsible for ensuring only authorized employees, clients, and visitors are permitted entry to the client's location.

Duties include but are not limited to Conduct Security Patrols and Respond to Emergency situations.

Requirements:
• Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act
• Able to maintain a professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances and people under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations
• Superior written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write clear, concise, and legible reports
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy
• Patrol assigned area on foot, as assigned, to ensure personal, building, and equipment security
• Watch for and report irregularities by completing investigations and incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required
• Safety Footwear is required
• Must have reliable transportation to commute to the job site

Certification Requirements (Any)

Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
