Overview:

This role is responsible for the Centre of Excellence (CoE), with expectations of M&A Delivery during deals or Strategic Initiatives.

The M&A Centre of Excellence Manager is accountable for enhancing/maintaining the CoE, driving best practices in M&A which entails executing strong analytics, Project/Program management, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to deliver in alignment to Enterprise goals.

During Mergers, Acquisitions (M&A), Divestitures, or Outsourcing deals, the role will include supporting active Deals.

In addition, the M&A Centre of Excellence Manager drives collaboration across functional teams in Enterprise; including T&O, Procurement, Finance, Communications, Audit, Legal and other areas to ensure successful transitions and maximize value from a Deal or Strategic Initiative.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Centre of Excellence (CoE) with standardized processes, methodology, and tools to execute M&A and Strategic Initiatives across the organization
  • Certify the M&A and Strategic Initiatives are adhering to Enterprise and Regulatory requirements; ultimately adhering to bank risk, regulatory and compliance controls
  • Assess Technology landscape of companies during Due Diligence, which includes the understanding systems, software, networks, and hardware. This includes the ability to identify potential synergies, redundancies, and compatibility gaps
  • Analyze Information Technology systems to Senior Executives on the complexity, alignment, of shared technologies to streamline Operations to enhance overall efficiency
  • Oversee transfer of data between companies, ensuring sensitive information is securely transferred with limited, to no, disruption
  • Illustrate advanced communication and collaboration as a liaison between a variety of key stakeholders
  • Evaluate complex technical environments, with ability to identify opportunities, risks, issues resulting in a strategic recommendation for technology integration and optimization
  • Provide in-depth planning, coordination, and execution of Projects/Programs from inception to completion. This includes confirming timelines are met, resources are allocated efficiently, and objectives are achieved
  • Connects work to BMO's purpose by setting inspiration goals, with clear expected outcomes and accountability; Develops the roadmap for execution
  • Monitor and track performance to address any issues
  • Lead Change Management activities, including readiness assessment, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation, and sustainment
  • Network with industry contacts to gather competitive insights and practices
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and within quality standards to the satisfaction of the project sponsor.
  • Drive to mitigate execution risk to achieve the desired business outcomes.
  • Directs, manages, and coordinates team members including other project managers, business and technology resources, user groups, internal and external consultants, and contractors, as well as vendors and external regulatory organizations
  • Strong technical proficiency in IT systems, software applications, databases, networking, and cybersecurity
  • Familiarity with the Financial industry, market competitors and M&A
  • Experience in technology consulting, M&A advisory, project management, or a related field
  • Involvement with IT infrastructure assessments, system integrations, data migrations, and post-merger optimizations is particularly relevant
  • Ability to negotiate solutions, resolve conflicts, and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Understand how to navigate complex organizational structures and balancing competing priorities is highly valued
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, learn and adapt quickly.
  • Willingness to travel and work non-regular business hours during deals, as required.
  • Advanced PowerPoint, SharePoint, verbal/written communication skills, stakeholder management and collaboration/team skills
Salary :

$92,400.00 - $171,600.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
