Overview

The Forensic practice is interested in hiring a Senior Manager to join its forensic data analytics ("FDA") team. The FDA team performs data analytics to provide litigation support, the quantification of damages, and investigations into fraud and other inappropriate actions. Our team also performs data analytics for external audit, internal audit and as well as for other consulting engagements.

This position is available to a candidate with minimum 10 years professional experience who is interested in continuing a career in forensic data analytics, specifically in supporting class actions and proactive remediation mandates where data and data calculations are a key focal point (e.g. analysis of large volumes of data to identify potential harmed individuals, calculation of damages/remediation related to these individuals, validation of calculations performed by clients and/or third-parties against defined logic/requirements, identification of limitations and quantify the impact of assumptions on the calculations, and preparation of expert reports to be submitted as part of litigation or regulatory submission). The candidate may from time to time assist the Forensic practice in data analysis in other areas such as in investigations (e.g. identify patterns and high-risk transactions, and asset tracing).

What you will do
  • Leading engagement teams and working to translate data requirements into data analytics routines.
  • The candidate will often be responsible for managing several engagements at one time.
  • Establishing and monitoring project budgets, ensuring timely billing and collections, etc. Assisting the Partners in new client evaluation, engagement acceptance and related risk management practices.
  • Preparation of written reports summarizing our procedures and findings. Preparing file documentation and ensuring appropriate document management.
  • Reviewing and/or developing scripts and workflows to assist with data extraction, queries, and data manipulation in accordance with business requirements.
  • Actively participating in marketing and business development at a Senior Manager level, this will include developing your professional network, attending networking events, writing articles, preparing and delivering presentations and other activities to raise your profile within the business community.
What you bring to the role
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, including 6 years of experience with data extraction, analysis, cleansing, quality and manipulation skills, and experience handling very large volumes of data, and a minimum of 5 years of managing class action and/or proactive remediation teams.
  • Experience in accounting and/or financial markets. A CPA designation is highly recommended but not obligatory.
  • Expert knowledge of the following tools: Alteryx, Tableau, MS Power BI, SQL, Python, ACL/IDEA
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple engagements simultaneously, setting project timelines, allocating resources efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work while managing internal and external stakeholders' expectations.
  • Subject matter expertise in class actions and/or proactive remediation.
  • Proven record of business development skills, including developing and maintaining long-term relationships across a network of existing and potential clients to maximise opportunities.
  • Excellent ability to communicate and present complex technical findings in a clear and concise manner concise anner tailored for audiences without a technical background or understanding of data analytics processes.
