We are looking for an experienced IT business analyst/consultant to join Wealth Management Technology team at BMO, Technology & Operations. As a senior member of a multi-functional team, you will primary be responsible for defining business requirements and collaborating with product team to establish solution scopes, test technical feasibility, and resolve business issues that arise during development.

Candidate we are looking for also has a combination of following skills, experience and mindset:

Project/Program engagement
  • Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Facilitates discussions and follows a disciplined approach to plan, elicit, analyze, document, communicate, and manage business requirements with stakeholders; applies a variety of elicitation techniques to probe, challenge, and understand requirements.
  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborates with various stakeholders to understand problems and opportunities, to facilitate the organization's goals by understanding business vision, objectives, and key performance indicators.
  • Acts as a consultant to business partners in collaboration with the project team in strategy and planning sessions (e.g., annual and multi-year plans), reviews, or inspections to ensure the quality of work products.
  • Aligns technology requirements and solutions to a real business need, meets essential quality standards, and ensures approval by all relevant stakeholders.
  • Assesses the quality of supporting documentation, including solution architecture documents, technical design documents, test strategy document documents, to ensure proper analysis supports, recommendations or demonstrate continued alignment to strategic objectives.
  • Collaborates closely with product owner to refine and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring user stories and acceptance criteria accurately reflect business objectives. Also works closely with members of the agile squad, business, and technology teams throughout the software development life cycle to ensure solutions align with business needs and participates in system testing, UAT and validation of new features or enhancements.
  • Promotes new processes and methodologies, emerging technologies, and agile, and aligns to the unique project team requirements.
Strategic & Analytical Leadership
  • Driving IT strategy by analyzing business processes, systems, and providing actionable insights.
  • Leading problem resolution and conducting root-cause analysis for complex issues.
  • Thought leadership in tech trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.

Collaboration and Communication
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicates and engages across stakeholder groups during construction and delivery of solutions.
  • Communicates technical strategies and changes clearly to both technical teams and business groups.
Specific Industry Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of investment products (Mutual Funds, ETFs, CDRs, alternative funds, etc.) and related processes.
  • Digital and/or banking experience (especially Global Asset Management and/or Retail Investments Technology) is considered a strong asset.
Hybrid work arrangement: The candidate is expected to work on-site at our downtown Toronto, ON location 2 days a week, with occasional additional day(s), as required.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably within capital markets, wealth management, asset management or investment operations, and a post-secondary degree in business, finance, and/or computer science. MBA is an asset.
  • Expert: Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Expert: Agile methodologies and tools (Scrum, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint).
  • Expert: Ability to write clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria and process flows.
  • Expert: Ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insight to help drive business decisions
  • Expert: Business strategy and assessments (i.e., feasibility studies, business cases and/or cost/benefit, project sizing and costing, and current state analysis/needs assessments).
  • Expert: Highly effective communicator. Excellent listening and communication skills, with proficiency in English (French is a bonus).
  • Expert: Collaboration & teamwork skills with a focus on cross-group collaboration.
Salary :

$92,400.00 - $171,600.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
