Job Description:
In this key role, you will oversee a state of the art healthcare command centre. Your role will include the following:
• SOC Operator is a shift lead role, responsible for the oversight of the security platoon
• Responsible for orienting guards to their respective roles
• Assist in tracking and deployment of security staff
• Monitor and operate numerous command centre systems including, access control, CCTV, fire and life safety.
• Make emergency overhead announcements
• Collaborate with the Security Coordinator on special projects
• Assist in training new staff
• Answer Telephones and dispatch calls from command centre
• Handle a variety of dispatch duties including incident call taking.
• Liaise with security staff, Paladin Operations Centre and assist with deployment
• Liaise with visitors, clients and staff
• Manage Lost & Found
• Manage the issuance and return of facility keys and ID/Access cards
• Issue Visitor and Contractor badges
Essential Job Functions:
• Be courteous and cooperative with a high quality of customer service.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with clinical staff, and the general public while conveying professionalism and authority at all times.
• Able to maintain a professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances and people under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
• Write clear, concise, and legible reports.
• Communicates any concerns/issues with Site Coordinator.
Requirements:
• A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Proficient in English (both oral and written)
• Degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services
• Proof of double COVID vaccination
• Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2)
• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
• Experience working in a command or dispatch center would be an asset
