What will your typical day look like?
As a Public Relations Specialist, you will be an integral member of a high-performing team that works across various business areas and industries nationwide to bring compelling content and business insights to different audiences. This includes proactive media relations, external materials development, media sensing, monitoring and reporting. Key responsibilities include:
• Working closely with the team to develop and implement national PR strategies/campaigns for boosting the Deloitte brand, generating interest in Deloitte's services and offerings, and building credibility of leaders in the market.
• Building and maintaining relationships with media, developing PR materials (press releases, media pitch notes, key messages/talking points, FAQs, etc.), building media lists, as well as media monitoring and reporting.
• Proactively identifying media opportunities for the firm's leaders to take part in the conversations that matter to our clients, communities, and country based on current events, business news, and public policy.
About the team
Part of the Marketing department, the PR team is an integral part of the Brand, Content and PR team. Beyond Marketing, the team works closely with executives and partners right across the firm to achieve their goals and provide counsel when interacting with Canadian media. The Marketing team is spread across the country, with PR team members located in Toronto and Quebec.

You are someone who has:
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a public relations, corporate or integrated communications role (previous experience working in a PR agency, professional services firm or matrix organization with a variety of business areas and stakeholders is an asset)
• A bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field, or post-graduate in Public Relations/Corporate Communications
• A deep and thorough understanding of the Canadian media landscape, with established relationships with journalists across the country
• Strong creative and business writing skills with the ability to turn technical jargon into easily consumable soundbites; experience writing diverse media materials (press releases, media pitch notes, key messages, FAQs)
• A strong experience using media monitoring tools to measure and report on public relations metrics, and good knowledge of social media platforms
• The ability to multitask and manage a consistent workload, juggling multiple priorities simultaneously (strong time management and project management skills are key)
• French language is an important asset
Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $96,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
