Are you an experienced leader with a passion for occupational health and safety and a talent for managing technical experts? WorkSafeBC is seeking a dynamic Manager, OHS Technical Advisory Services to lead a diverse team of specialists dedicated to advancing workplace safety in BC.
Reporting to the Director, Prevention Practice & Quality Support, you will oversee a team with expertise in crucial OHS fields, including occupational audiology, occupational hygiene, ergonomics/human factors, specialized engineering, and more. You will play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of specialized prevention services, implementing strategic initiatives, and upholding WorkSafeBC's high standards. This is a unique opportunity to provide leadership, shape policy application, and contribute significantly to the health and safety of BC's workforce.
Where you'll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices based on the operational needs of the position.
In this role, you will work primarily from our Richmond Office with some flexibility to work from your home in B.C.

Manager, OHS Technical Advisory Services, you will:
- Ensure delivery of quality programs and excellent customer service.
- Develop and implement strategy for key OHS programs across Prevention division
- Lead, manage, and develop a diverse team of up to OHS specialists (audiology, hygiene, ergonomics, engineering, etc.).
- Set performance goals, provide coaching and feedback, and manage the full employee lifecycle (hiring, orientation, evaluation, development, performance).
- Foster a supportive, collaborative, and healthy work environment, promoting teamwork.
- Looking for an organized candidate, great at pivoting and working with multiple work priorities
- Can focus on client work and the technical aspects of the role.
- Experienced people manager, promoting effective communication and articulating direction
- Strategic-thinker, using technical knowledge to oversee OHS programs.
- A degree in occupational health and safety or a related field.
- A minimum of five to ten years of experience in progressive leadership roles, specifically managing professionals within a technical environment.
- People management experience essential
- Experience directly within an occupational health and safety (OHS) setting.
- Experience working within a regulatory environment.
