What will your typical day look like?

The Data Strategy & Governance Manager role is a unique role that will drive immediate and global impact to establish the new Data Strategy & Governance Office (DSGO) at Deloitte Global.
In this role, you will develop and implement Deloitte's global approach for data governance and data management capabilities in alignment with the organization's objectives and multi-regional requirements. By consulting and partnering with key stakeholders, you will conduct assessments, identify gaps, and provide recommendations on how to cultivate data as a critical asset across the organization. In addition, you will provide research and expertise on industry practices and support the cross-functional implementation of those practices globally by managing multiple programs.

The ideal candidate will have a background in data strategy, data governance, data management, data quality, and/or data technology and architecture. As the DSGO defines and creates new capabilities, this candidate will ideally thrive in navigating ambiguity with an aptitude for developing new frameworks and processes as the structure and organization evolves. The ideal candidate will also have strong communication and relationship-building skills and a proactive and agile approach to managing concurrent projects, with a high degree of initiative.

Key responsibilities:

  • Co-develop DSGO strategy materials, data governance playbooks, policies, standards, and frameworks with stakeholders and maintain these documents
  • Facilitate the necessary decision forums, processes, and controls to enable the effective stewarding of data assets by partnering with global platform teams, technology teams, and internal functions
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts, monitor ongoing results, define process areas for review, and conduct benchmarking activities to ensure best in class results for data management leading practices
  • Team with global data stewards and other stakeholders to understand their needs, identify opportunities for standardization, identify and assess critical data sets, and share leading practices
  • Review, measure, and report on data quality on a regular cadence and provide oversight of programs that contribute to improving data quality
  • Partner with global technology and application teams to identify and integrate governance practices to effectively manage data capabilities such as master data, data classification, and the data lifecycle by collecting requirements, designing process flows, and recommending solutions
  • Lead all aspects of change management and training related to the rollout and ongoing activities of the DSGO
  • Foster an innovation mindset to explore and identify new methods to oversee our data assets using leading practices and emerging technologies

About the team

The DSGO is responsible for building an integrated strategy and operating model to effectively and consistently manage global data throughout its lifecycle to more effectively serve our clients, meet business objectives, and foster innovation. The team is leading various initiatives to develop a data strategy and establish consistent data governance and data management practices at Deloitte Global. The team reports to the Chief Transformation Officer.
