OT Method: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Payrate: $22.61/hour

Job Description:


•Present a smart, visible, and alert security presence
•Greet, assist, and direct members of the public visiting the premises
•Ensure the safety & security of clients, buildings, and assets
•Work effectively, both independently and as part of a team
•Carry out all security duties as specified (including, but not limited to):
•Proactive/reactive interior & exterior patrols
•Response & assistance in emergency situations
•Documenting & reporting of any/all security events on shift
•Investigate routine incidents
•Patient watches
•Parking & smoking by-law enforcement
•Hospital policy awareness & enforcement
•Access control/key control
•Monthly safety inspections
•Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:


•Valid Ontario Security Guard License
•Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
•Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
•Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
•A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
•Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are otherwise unable to provide their MMR immunity at the time of hire will not be deemed eligible for the position.
•Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
•Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience preferred
•Minimum 6 months of non-healthcare security experience preferred
•Must be able to commit to full-time availability for no less than 6 months
•English proficiency (oral & written) is required
•Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
•6+ months of customer service experience is considered an asset
•Must be able to provide certifications in Stay Safe
•Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's Stay Safe certification program prior to their onboarding certification to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
•Please be aware: The Stay Safe certification is not paid, however Paladin will cover all the costs of the certification with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
For this position, the following knowledge/skills would be considered an asset:

•Knowledge of the Criminal Code
•Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act
•Practical knowledge of the Private Security & Investigative Services Act and regulations
•General knowledge of the Ontario Fire Code and how it applies to a healthcare environment
•Knowledge of security principles, concepts, and methodologies in a healthcare setting
•IAHSS - Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) - Basic certification
•Post-secondary education - Police Foundations or Law & Security Program, or equivalant experience
