You are looking to join a vibrant and busy team based in Vancouver, Langley or Burnaby, or can be flexible to other locations in BC. You have at least 6 years of progressive, technical experience primarily in contaminated site investigation and remediation (e.g., Detailed Site Investigations, Supplemental Site Investigations, Remedial Option Analysis, and Liability Estimates), combined with some project coordination and management experience, but you also thrive on stretching your technical skills and working on multi-disciplinary projects. You are capable of working solo but are similarly adept at working and contributing in a team environment. What you can expect to do here:
  • You will contribute to the business and technical mission of the multi-disciplinary team environment within the Environmental Management Group.
  • You will be planning, coordinating and executing projects related primarily to contaminated site investigation and remediation in northern or remote settings, and are familiar with Provincial and Federal contaminated sites requirements.
  • You will be participating in a team environment, working directly with Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers.
  • You will be responsible for project health and safety, which includes working with clients on field requirements, review of safety plans and field documentation, attendance at pre- and post-field meetings, site visits, etc.
  • You will be responsible for summarizing and interpreting datasets, statistical analysis, and preparing written and graphical material for incorporating into reports and presentations.
  • You will oversee the delivery of reports to clients from concept to review and submission.
  • You will control and monitor the progress of projects with respect to scope, schedule, budget, quality, etc.
  • You will be responsible for project file management, and quality control of documentation and systems.
  • You will supervise and train junior staff in environmental practices including Stage 1 and Stage 2 PSIs, DSIs, drilling, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation etc., as well as on site specific health and safety, to ensure the implementation of quality assurance/quality control measures applicable to the task.

What you'll bring to WSP:
  • Recognizing that everyone has different strengths and skillsets, here are some of the key things you will bring to the team. If you have 6 years or more of experience, we encourage you to apply if you know you can make a difference
  • University or equivalent Degree in Environmental Management, Biology, Engineering or related natural/earth sciences.
  • 6+ years of relevant consulting and technical experience as a contaminated sites practitioner.
  • Status as an environmental professional (P.Eng, P.Geo, R.P.Bio., P.Biol, P.Ag.) and/or eligibility for accreditation through a similar professional organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to build and lead a project team and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Project management experience and experience reporting on contaminant characterization, remediation planning, and contaminated sites-focused regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of environmental chemistry, geology, and contaminant fate and transport to support development of conceptual site models and remediation plans.
  • Experience working in northern and/or remote project environments would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and innovative thinking skills are essential.
  • A positive demeanor towards carrying out your work safely and supporting the safe work of those you work with.
  • A clean Driver's Abstract and a willingness to travel.

Salary Range (in British Columbia): $74,600 to $102,600

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
